About the Organisation
Parbery Pastoral is a family founded and owned dairy farm, located in Candelo, in the Bega Valley, NSW. With a new, long-term growth contract signed with Bega Cheese, Parbery Pastoral is a rapidly growing farm, with a current herd of around 700 – 800 dairy cattle. Equipped with the latest, cutting-edge technology, including a 60-unit rapid exit dairy, automatic cup removers, and individual feeds, Parbery Pastoral are committed to producing high quality dairy products, whilst upholding the highest standards of herd care.
About the Opportunity
Parbery Pastoral are seeking an Assistant Herd Manager (Dairy Farmer) to join their close-knit team in Candelo, NSW, on a full-time basis.
Working alongside the Herd Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of farm and herd management. You'll have ability to drive and optimise production through effective grazing and livestock management, along with ensuring upkeep of the land, machinery, and utilities on the farm is maintained. Around 80% of your workload will be milking, with the remaining 20% focused on farm management and upkeep.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience working as an assistant herd manager, with a certificate or equivalent understanding of artificial insemination for livestock. Management experience, with the ability to organise workloads within a team, will be key to your success.
You’ll be a proven team player, with a friendly attitude and the willingness to provide support to all operations on the farm. Above all, you’ll have a strong passion for the dairy industry, with a drive to expand your skills and progress your career with this rapidly growing organisation. Parbery Pastoral employs a zero-tolerance approach to animal abuse, and will only uphold the highest standards of animal welfare.
Please note: It is a requirement of this role that successful candidates hold a current, manual driver’s licence, and have experience driving 4WDs and/or utes.
