You will be joining Amana Living as a welcomed and supported member of their team, in a part time Support Worker position, covering home care locations across Perth, WA. 

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally hold a Certificate III in Home & Community Care (Aged Care Work) or equivalent, however this is not essential.  If you don't currently hold a certification, but have experience in a similar position, or personal life experience as a carer, Amana Living will be able to provide you with opportunities to undertake certification training in the future!

In addition, you'll need to demonstrate the ability to provide high quality assessment, prevention, treatment and intervention to achieve the highest possible outcomes for a broad range of clients.

It goes without saying that in this role, clients' are the number one priority, so you'll be accountable for your actions and understand that making proactive suggestions to your Team Leader can often make positive impacts for your clients. As a result, you'll be open to receiving feedback and always look for a better way of doing things.

Support Workers should involve clients in key components of their work to ensure the primary focus is to make clients as independent as possible. About the Opportunity

Amana Living are seeking motivated Support Workers who have skills to work with clients with different levels of independence, enabling them to remain in their own homes, in the community.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the successful applicants primary objectives' will include providing respite, transport, shopping assistance, personal care, meal preparation, medication services, social support and domestic duties. 

Some of your responsibilities may include (but not be limited to):

• Providing direct care to clients in accordance with care plan;
• Supporting, maintaining, and assisting client’s independence;
• Assisting the client with personal hygiene;
• Assisting with mobilising and transferring clients (as per the Support Plan);
• Ensuring clients can maintain adequate hydration and nutrition by providing assistance as needed;
• Assisting clients to take correct medication; and
• Assisting client with communication and socialisation with others and other domestic tasks.

This role will include travel by road and transportation of clients; therefore a valid driver’s licence is required for this position, as is access to your own small car with valid insurance and registration. Note the emphasis on the 'small car' - no large vehicles or 4WD's can be used in this role to ensure ease of access for clients. 

It is a requirement of this role that the successful candidates have the flexibility to work a 7 day rotating roster, with shifts varying in length between the hours of 7am and 8pm, Monday-Friday, and 7am to 3pm on weekends.
