About the Opportunity
Due to continuous growth, AMA Projects has an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead the team based in Canberra, ACT, on a full-time basis. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects, ensuring all activities are completed on time, on budget, and of the highest possible quality to secure the long term growth and profitability of the business.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing a high level of guidance, leadership and support to project teams and site administration staff;
- Handling the entire procurement process, including planning and programming for all resources required for each project;
- Evaluating tenders and negotiating contracts for projects; and
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, sub-contractors and existing staff and owners.
AMA Projects is seeking a candidate who has demonstrated construction project management experience, who is either trade qualified or holds relevant tertiary qualifications in project management. You’ll have strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a number of projects at any one time, alongside a strong understanding of the scope, deadlines, and budgets associated with each project.
You’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with clients and contractors in a professional manner. Sound computer literacy is a requirement of this role, with experience using Microsoft Project or similar highly desirable.
