Nganampa Health Council is an Aboriginal owned and controlled health organisation operating on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands in the far north west of South Australia. Across this area, Nganampa Health operates seven clinics, an aged care facility and assorted health related programs including aged care, sexual health, environmental health, health worker training, dental, women's health, male health, children's health and mental health.

The Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands is located in the far north-western region of South Australia. It covers approximately 103,000 sq km with a population of approximately 3,500 Anangu people. The region is freehold land controlled by the Anangu people.

Nganampa Health Council has a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Personal Care Attendant to join their dedicated aged care team, based in Pukatja (Ernabella), in remote North West, South Australia.
Working under the direction of the Residential Care Manager, you will be responsible for planning and delivering person centred care to residents of the Tjilpiku Pampaku Ngura aged care facility.
More specifically, some of your key duties will include:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in Australia as a Personal Care Worker, working with frail, aged and disabled people in an aged care setting. You'll hold a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, or an equivalent EN qualification. This could be a great opportunity for an existing EN looking for a change in role or to move away from a traditional hospital environment.
Nganampa Health Council is seeking an adaptable and flexible individual who can display the initiative, discretion and cultural sensitivity needed to support and drive the organisation's objectives and values. You must be able to both communicate and participate effectively within a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary health team.
Candidates who are open to change, accepting of and interested in engaging with Aboriginal people, and comfortable living in a remote environment will be best suited to this position. Previous experience working with Aboriginal communities in a remote setting will be highly advantageous.
To be considered, you must be willing to undergo a Police Check prior to commencing employment and hold a current First Aid Certificate and manual driver’s licence. Experience driving a 4WD vehicle is desirable.
