About the Opportunity
Marr Mooditj are seeking a dedicated Hospitality Trainer and Assessor to join their team in Perth, WA, on a casual part-time basis, rotating between the Marr Mooditj Training Centre and multiple regional areas.
You will support, train, and mentor a small group of students in an end-to-end process, beginning in a classroom setting for theoretical training before accompanying students to the working cafeteria kitchens for practical training. With many students assigned to the course for the purpose of taking a guaranteed placement, one of your main responsibilities will be to oversee their transfer from study to employment.
Further responsibilities will include:
- Preparing training resources and assessment instruments;
- Identifying skill development opportunities;
- Preparing training session plans and timetables;
- Delivering and assessing units; and
- Performing administrative duties such as marking assessments;
The successful candidate will hold a SIT20316 Certificate II in Hospitality and a TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. You will have previous experience working in hospitality and a current knowledge of the industry, ensuring you are confident in your field. This role also calls for someone who is passionate about passing on their knowledge, taking a ‘hands-on’ approach to training.
You must have excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills, being an efficient independent worker as well as an effective team player. It is important that you are relatively fit for manual handling and extended shift hours, with the ability to maintain your energy and enthusiasm and continue to inspire your students.
This role also presents an opportunity to add significant value to the course and generate new business for Marr Mooditj, ultimately increasing student numbers and expanding the role. As such, the ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and driven individual with a view to making this role their own.
Please note: You will be required to undertake a National Police Clearance and a Medical Screening before commencing in this role, and may be subject to random drug testing. Marr Mooditj regulations also prohibit the consumption of alcohol. You must also hold a current Driver’s License and have your own vehicle.
