In 1964 Noel Dunlop started making simple steel products for the local farmers in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Today, still owned by the Dunlop family, Dunsteel is a highly respected Steel Fabrication Business with a large well-equipped workshop in Moss Vale NSW. The Dunsteel team have successfully completed 100’s of major steel construction projects for leading builders and architect and can proudly boast the fact that they are at the forefront of prefabricated stairway design for large multistory buildings.

What does the role entail?
Due to an exciting growth period, Dunsteel have an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Assistant to join their team in Moss Vale, NSW, on a full-time basis.
As the Workshop Assistant, you will be responsible for providing a high level of support to the Workshop Manager to ensure the smooth and effictive management of the workshop.
In this varied and dynamic role, some of your daily duties will include but will not be limited to:
- Supporting senior management in their day to day duties;
- Communicating with a number of internal and external stakeholders and contractors;
- Developing an understanding of the scope of work so you can print and interpret manufacturing drawings;
- Providing sales support, including managing a CRM and completing lead generation; and
- Analysing client needs and preparing quotations accordingly.
Who are you?
To be considered for this role you will, first and foremost, be looking for a long term career within steel manufacturing. Although no formal education is required for your success, any qualifications or experience in a manufacturing or workshop space will be highly regarded.
You’ll be a fast learner, with the initiative to take on further responsibility to ensure the efficient management of the workshop is maintained. Your exceptional customer service, communication skills and the ability to aid in meeting set sales targets will also be integral to your success.
Finally, you will be a hungry and driven person, capable of working both autonomously and in a team environment. In order to succeed the role, you will also have at least an intermediate understanding of the Microsoft Office suite.
