Their range of certified, multi-award winning white and flavoured milks, yoghurts, quarks, butter and handcrafted French-style soft and European style hard cheeses are made from the highest quality, premium, biodynamic-organic milk, which is produced on supplying dairy farms in the area and on their own farm at Murray Bridge.
At both, their manufacturing plant and their dairy farm, they avoid harmful chemicals, and keep the environment as natural as possible, working energy efficient, not using harmful chemicals and no GMO’s.
About the Opportunity
Currently, B.-d. Farm Paris Creek has an opportunity for a Dairy Farm Manager to run their Murray Bridge Dairy Farm, on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Business Owners, you’ll be responsible for supervising and coordinating the herd as well as the day-to-day operation of the dairy. This includes the upkeep of the facilities at the dairy and of the farm in accordance with bio-dynamic management requirements.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing strong leadership and management to farm staff;
- Monitoring herd health and wellbeing, upholding the highest standards of herd care;
- Managing grazing rotations;
- Milking twice a day to produce a high-quality product and to promote stress-free animal well-being;
- Overseeing and implementing workplace health and safety procedures in all farm operations; and
- Maintain daily records in farm diary, on Ezy-Dairy, and meet milk quality targets.
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in dairy farming, specifically in a management role. Exceptional communication skills are integral to this role, as you’ll need to be able to liaise with staff and management in a professional and effective manner. Strong people management skills, with the ability to provide instruction, guidance, and support to staff are essential. Successful candidates must have a current driver’s licence, experience using a flood irrigation system and mechanical experience in regards to general farm machinery, pumps etc.
You’ll be a proven team player, with a friendly attitude and the willingness to provide support to all operations on the farm.
