About the Opportunity
Sofina Foods has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Superintendent for our food manufacturing plant in Wynyard, Saskatchewan.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day order fulfillment activities at the Wynyard facility while maintaining efficient production in desired quality and quantity. More specifically, you will lead the Plant Production Team in achieving key performance indicators for safety, environment, quality, customer service, and cost.
Responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrating leadership to production supervisors and hourly employees to ensure consistent quality of work
- Overseeing production operations assuring quality and adherence to production specifications to meet customer expectations and business objectives
- Monitoring the effective deployment of human resources throughout the plant and ensure the correct administration of the collective Bargaining Agreement
- Maintaining accountability for a safe working environment by developing strategies focused on accident reduction, as well as energy and waste minimization
- Maintaining accountability to achieve the assigned business metrics including yield, labour efficiency, sanitation and overhead expenses
Our ideal candidate will have a degree in Business Administration or Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a superintendent role, or demonstrating increasing responsibility and success in various roles (or equivalent combination of experience and training).
In order to apply, you will need:
- Previous experience in an unionized environment
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in a meat processing environment, or with live animals (asset only)
- Proven experience in, and ability to manage within the terms and conditions of the collective agreement(s) and corporate human resources policies
- In-depth knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP, and WHMIS
- Strong Communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
