Based in Prince George, LTN Contracting is a partnership between the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation and Roga Contracting and is one of the largest timber harvesting contractors in the area.
Working mostly in forestry, with some pipeline work, Roga Contracting has operations on Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast, Prince George, and Houston. With over 200 employees across all locations, Roga Contracting prides itself on its commitment to safety standard and practices and has been in business for over 40 years.
Through its partnership with Lheidli T'enneh First Nation, LTN Contracting has previously won the award for Excellence in Aboriginal Business Leadership and has developed real ties to the community in which it operates. LTN Contracting's education fund for Lheidli T’enneh band members has supported about 60 people pursuing advanced education.
About the Opportunity
LTN/Roga Contracting is currently seeking a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic in Prince George, BC. Please note that this is a permanent role which requires you to be based in Prince George.
Spending most of your time in the field, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Performing emergency repairs on equipment as needed
- Servicing and maintaining equipment
- Keeping service records
For this role, we're seeking fully licensed Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic with their own truck to join LTN Contracting as an independent contractor. There is also the possibility to join our team as an employee and use a company truck (for candidates who do no have their own).
Our ideal candidate will also possess:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the forestry industry
- Previous welding experience (required)
- Electrical and hydraulic trouble shooting skills
- The ability to read schematics
- Experience with computerized equipment
- Previous experience with Tigercart equipment
Most importantly, we're seeking skilled and self-motivated professionals who have an excellent mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new systems. As a diligent and reliable professional, you'll demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and be capable of working independently and solving problems.
