A New Opportunity Awaits
Due to growth, Palliser Furniture currently has multiple opportunities for Product Managers to join the team in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Reporting to the Director of Product Management, you will plan, organize, and manage a product line from conceptual stages, through design brief, to sample development, introduction, and product life cycle.
Using market knowledge/analysis, competitor analysis, and your understanding of customer needs, you will develop and manage a product portfolio to optimize profit while meeting the marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying market trends and focusing Palliser’s line in order to take advantage of them, as well as identifying category strengths and weaknesses
- Visiting customers and target customers in local markets across North America to understand needs, trends, and to keep abreast of the competition
- Developing ongoing dialogue and feedback from our sales reps so we can include them in the process
- Developing and presenting proposed product strategies together with R&D and the design team
- Partnering with all Palliser internal departments to coordinate the successful introduction of all new products
- Creating complete design brief inputs for all new products including SKU's needed, pricing targets by market, and volume goals
- Managing product pre-cost function to ensure that we establish realistic target costs and reach those targets throughout the development cycle
- Developing monthly reports as to the performance of the business and analyzing product margins to ensure accuracy and maintain overall profitability
- Working with Marketing and Sales to plan show product assortment and messaging for the category, as well as presenting product assortment at trade shows
- Working with marketing to approve and assist on the content for Palliser.com website
- Presenting a quarterly “line review” of your category to the executive team
Our ideal candidate will have a Degree or Diploma in Design, or Business, Marketing, or Merchandising and a minimum of 3 years of experience in furniture or fashion products. You will also have direct experience with the full product development cycle and with dealing with development and manufacturing facilities.
Above all, you will have excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills coupled with the ability to do whatever it takes to get the job done while pushing projects forward under tight deadlines and in a fast paced environment.
Your strong problem solving and decision-making skills will be the key to your success in this role. Similarly, you will possess the ability to build collaborative relationships and coordinate teams across organizational boundaries. You must also be comfortable speaking in front of groups, reps, and retail associates. Please note that due to the nature of this role, some travel to shows within North America and our factories will be required.

In exchange for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with a highly competitive base salary of $50,000 - $75,000 per year commensurate with your skills and experience, plus opportunities for incentives.
