Caringa Enterprises Ltd (Caringa) has been in operation since 1953 and is a diverse, mission-focussed and socially responsible organisation based in Grafton, NSW.

Caringa provides lifestyle, supported employment, and accommodation options - whilst supporting and empowering - people with disability. The sites for operation extend from Bonalbo in the north, within Grafton and the Clarence Valley, and south to Coffs Harbour.

The organisation believes people with disability have a right to receive services that are planned and efficiently managed. They also believe their clients have a right to receive these services from appropriately trained staff. The Managers and Board of Directors embrace this responsibility, both ethically and under company law, contract law, WHS law and quality management system guidelines to efficiently manage the human and financial resources of Caringa to provide maximum outcomes for all people who access Caringa services.

About the Opportunity

Caringa is now seeking multiple casual Community Support Workers to join their passionate teams in Grafton and Coffs Harbour, NSW.

A variety of shifts are available, allowing you flexibility around your schedule. These shifts include day, afternoon, weekend, passive and active night, and split shifts.

As a Community Support Worker, you will be primarily responsible for the implementing individual goals and plans, providing support in all aspects of daily living, and facilitating community inclusion and participation. You will aim to ensure your customers receive support that maximises their ability for self-determination, personal expression, and independence.

Some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Providing appropriate physical, emotional, and personal care and support to customers;
  • Supervising and supporting customers to participate in age appropriate activities and tasks;
  • Fostering positive and professional relationships with customers/family and advocates;
  • Facilitating community inclusion and participation, dependent on individual needs, abilities and preferences; and
  • Supporting customers to establish and maintain relationships and interests through access to community activities, venues and services.

About You

The successful candidate must be willing to work a seven day shift roster, with flexibility regarding hours.

Although beneficial, you do not need previous experience as a Support Worker to be successful in this role. If you have the following, Caringa would like to hear from you!

Any qualifications, certificates or current study in the areas of Disabilities, Community Services, Youth Work or Aged Care will be highly regarded.

Please Note: A current First Aid Certificate, current Driver's License, current Police Check, and valid Working with Children Check are all required prior to commencing employment.
