Based in Port Moresby and Lae, PNG Motors is a locally owned and operated business that services Papua New Guinea's motoring needs.
They represent Mazda, Hyundai, Suzuki, and Suzuki Marine, and now JMC automotive products for vehicles, parts, and service. PNG Motors also has a range of quality assured local and imported Used Vehicles plus Service Departments and Body Shops.
About the Opportunity
PNG Motors now has an exciting opportunity for a Branch Manager (Dealer Principal) to join their Lae, PNG team on a full-time basis.
Much like a Dealer Principal or General Manager, your main responsibility will be running and controlling a complete Dealership. As the Lae Dealership includes several departments including, New and Used car sales, parts and servicing, panel/body shop, truck workshop, and administration, it is crucial that you have the ability oversee all the activities of all departments including Fixed Operations.
More specifically, some of your day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Directing and controlling all operations of the branch;
- Regularly assessing the performance of each department and ensure that budgets/targets are met;
- Introducing and implementing corrective measures to rectify any shortfalls in operating results;
- Updating Head Office on a regular basis of any local economic conditions;
- Submitting proposals to the General Manager of any new business opportunities; and
- Compiling, evaluating, and analysing management reports for the General Manager on a monthly basis.
To be successful in this role, you must have demonstrated experience in commercial management within the motor trade industry at a senior level.
The ideal candidate will have first-rate experience with automotive commercial and passenger vehicle (sales) and experience in Heavy Truck sales will be a definite advantage.
It is also vital that you have strong operational skills including planning, organising, directing, and controlling the activities of multiple departments.
As this is a Senior position, you will display strong leadership qualities and have the ability to maintain communicative relationships with all levels of staff including department managers.
While not essential, candidates with any relevant industry qualifications will be highly regarded.
About the Benefits
In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration K410,000. Based on the current exchange rate, your total salary package will be $155,000 - $160,000 AUD!
