Kingfisher Bay Resort is now seeking a General Manager to join their hard-working, spirited team. This is a full-time, live-on role within the Resort at Fraser Island.

This is a hands-on leadership position that requires constant and vigilant management and control of all aspects of the Resort.

Reporting to the Group General Manager, you will ensure the effective and efficient operation of each department of the Resort, while promoting efficiency, professionalism and hospitality at a four-star level.

More specifically, some of your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Managing business operations to the highest standard and to the satisfaction of guests;
  • Driving cultural initiatives;
  • Overseeing a team of 180 staff members, including directly managing the executive Resort management team;
  • Developing and managing employment relationships by:
    • Increasing management and staff motivation
    • Developing staff training and development programs to meet current and future business needs
    • Succession planning
    • Developing and managing employee involvement and employee incentive programs; and
  • Meeting all statutory and other regulatory requirements for a modern integrated operation.

Are you the right fit?

Kingfisher Bay Resort is on the lookout for an experienced manager who holds formal qualifications in Business Management, Hotel Management, or other relevant discipline. Significant hotel / resort management experience is essential, including experience in Food & Beverage, Events, Accommodation, and Operations. You'll possess strong business acumen, analytical skills, and the instincts needed to successfully run a business.
