About the Opportunities

Knauf Australia now has multiple opportunities for Production and Distribution Operators to join their new facility in Bundaberg, QLD, on a casual basis, working across multiple shifts. 

These roles will be spread across the production and distribution operations of the plant, with a primary focus on mill, dry end, additives operations and distribution. Commencing in one area of operations, your goal will be to become a specialist in that particular role so you can provide ongoing training and guidance to new starters and other parts of the business. Eventually you will move to other parts of the production facility so you can continue to learn and expand on your skill set. 

As Knauf team member some of your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Operation, monitoring and adjustment of production in your designated area;
  • Routine quality control, inspection and testing;
  • Basic maintenance;
  • Troubleshooting and solving quality issues; and
  • Forklift use.

You will undergo robust training and have extensive support in achieving the above. It is expected that you are a quick learner with the ability to acquire the above technical skills through training.

Who is Knauf Looking For?

To be successful in these positions you will have the following:

  • A current forklift licence (or the willingness to obtain one);
  • Respect and adherence to all safety practices;
  • Ownership of performance and quality for your designated area;
  • High-level communication and problem-solving skills'
  • Ability to work and make sound decisions under pressure; and
  • Ability and willingness to adhere to standard operating conditions.

A trade qualification is not mandatory for you to succeed in this role but a mechanical/engineering aptitude is. If you are someone who likes tinkering with cars and engines in your man/woman cave on the weekend, then this is a great start. 

Please note: Due to the physical nature of these roles, the successful candidates will be required to do a certain amount of manual handling and repetitive movements including continually walking up and down stairs, shoveling, chiseling and operating precision hand tools.
