The Indigenous Perspectives Society has two exciting opportunities for both an Aboriginal Social Work Instructor and an Aboriginal Social Work Team Lead/Instructor to join our team in Victoria, BC.
In both of these roles, you will develop, review, deliver and instruct training curriculum and material for IPS programs in accordance with clearly established policies and procedures.
As the Aboriginal Social Work Instructor, you will report to the Aboriginal Social Work Team Lead/Instructor directly, and you will provide sound and expert advice on all aspects of curriculum development and delivery.

In order to qualify for this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Child and Youth Care, or a related discipline plus 3 - 5 years of Guardianship and/or Child protection experience. You will also possess:
As the Aboriginal Social Work Team Lead/Instructor, you will report directly to the Associate Director and provide sound and expert feedback on all aspects of curriculum development and delivery including promoting, delivering and scheduling training and ensuring instructors are in place to deliver training. Please note that this role will be based out of the IPS office as well as off-site locations.

In order to qualify for this role, you will have a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Child Services, or a related field and 5 - 8 years of Guardianship and/or Child protection experience. You will also possess:
You will be a good fit for either role if you have a good understanding of Aboriginal Social Work specifically in the area of child welfare. Knowledge of adult education theory and practices and of legislation, regulations and practice standards pertaining to Aboriginal Child & Family Services is important.
Above all, you must be able to develop and maintain relationships with co-workers and stakeholders and work with diverse groups. The ability to organize, prioritize and manage workloads is imperative, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Please note you must have at least a Guardianship delegation, but ideally, a Child Protection delegation to be considered for either role.
