About the Opportunity

Knauf Australia now has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Planner to join their manufacturing facility in Altona, VIC, on a full-time basis. 

Reporting to the National Planning Manager, this would be an ideal role for somebody who is early career and degree qualified, looking to further their career in Supply Chain and Logistics Management.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Maintaining a high service level to customer network by ensuring accurate planning and monitoring of production and ordering of merchandise inventory;
  • Managing multimillion dollar inventory in order to plan and forecast efficiently to optimise stock and cost efficiencies;
  • Utilising Lean tools to ensure we have best practice just in time or Kanban processes;
  • Managing relationships with our third party vendors;
  • Preparing high-level reports in regards to planning, inventory and imports;
  • Liaising with the manufacturing managers to help drive the implementation of strategies to meet production planning and output requirements;
  • Managing inventory and freight movements to agreed levels to assist with working capital targets;
  • Working with various stakeholders to ensure continuous process improvement across the wider Australian business; and
  • Assisting with the execution of the S&OP Supply Plan.

Who is Knauf Looking For?

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 2-3 years experience out of uni looking to build and progress a career in the production planning space. 

To be considered for this position you will have the following:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain Management or similar (essential);
  • At least 2 years experience in a similar role within a manufacturing, warehousing or transport environment (essential);
  • Advanced computer literacy in Excel and Word (essential);
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills (essential) and
  • A working knowledge of SAP or similar software (desirable).
  • The ability to work autonomously and successfully multi-task ensuring deadlines are met; and
  • Respect and adherence to all safety practices;
  • High-level communication and problem-solving skills; and
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
