About the Opportunity

Knauf Australia now has an exciting full-time opportunity for Plant Technical Officer to join their team in Matraville, NSW.

In this role, you will be working right at the hub of the plant and at the heart of the action!

You will be responsible for the early detection of quality issues, troubleshooting and resolution of production and field customer complaints, providing technical expertise. You will also be responsible for creating and implementing development and improvement initiatives, driving the Sydney plant to world-class standards, in line with its European peers!  

This is a hands-on, process-oriented role that will see you working in the lab and on the shop floor. 

Who is Knauf Looking For?

It is key in this role that you are passionate and have the ability to implement world class standards. You will be dedicated when it comes to product innovation and will strive to create changes that will develop the plant internally.  You will be constantly finding new ways to continuously improve the plant.

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a tertiary qualification in engineering, science, chemistry, or equivalent. Candidates must also have a sound understanding of chemistry (beyond year 12 chemistry) and a high level of problem-solving skills.

Candidates with previous experience in a similar position are encouraged to apply, however, this role will be ideal for a confident graduate who holds some post-graduate experience.

A high attention to detail and accuracy mixed with an ability to achieve results within tight timeframes will be key to your success in the role. As is the ability to liaise with other departments and effectively deal with confrontation when required. You will also need to have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment whilst being able to influence and motivate employees. Exceptional verbal communication, a curious mind, and enthusiasm is also a must!
