About the role
Due to an impending move to 24/7 mining operations, Cristal Mining has multiple opportunities for Entry Level Mine Site Operators to join the Ginkgo mine, located approximately 160km North of Mildura and 40 km west of Pooncarie.
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dredge mining equipment, including a wet separation plant. You will also be required to assist maintenance crews on shutdowns, rope changes for the dredge, rope laying, and general mine site duties as required.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- A current, driver's licence;
- The ability to drive in and out of site;
- The ability to comprehend electronic data;
- Basic computer skills;
- An understanding of safe work practices; and
- Experience operating integrated tool carriers, forklifts, or equivalent would be advantageous (this is not mandatory).
These opportunities are open to both inexperienced candidates and experienced mine site operators.
To be successful in your application you will need to possess a positive, 'can-do' attitude and be able to work collaboratively in a safety and target focussed work environment.
Applicants will also need to meet the physical requirements of the role which includes manual handling tasks.
You will also need to undertake a pre-employment medical and psychometric assessment as part of the recruitment process.
