About the Organisation
Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital is a part of the Sisters of Charity & Holy Spirit Health Queensland. Their facilities include Mt Olivet Community Services; St Vincent's Hospital Toowoomba and Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital.
Based 15km north from the heart of Brisbane in Queensland Australia, Holy Spirit Northside is co located with the Prince Charles Public Hospital.
Holy Spirit Northside opened in July 2001 and is an acute tertiary facility with 164 beds. Their facilities include an Emergency Centre, 8 Operating Theatres Cardiac Catheter Laboratory and an Intensive Care Unit. Holy Spirit Northside provides a broad range of health care services to Brisbane and the wider community with a full range of surgical specialties including Cardiac; Orthopaedic; and major colorectal surgery.
About The Opportunity
If you are looking to advance your medical career within a world class facility, Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital has exciting opportunities for Medical Fellows to join their ICU team in Chermside.
This role involves 12-hour shifts to provide 24-hour medical care in the facility's 12-bed Intensive Care Unit. Case-mix in the ICU is both challenging and interesting with a large proportion of the cases having had cardiac surgery.
Supported by the Director of ICU and specialist consultants, you will join an existing team of Medical Fellows who are passionate about the care they provide to patients.
Some of your key duties will include:
- Providing medical services to intensive care patients, including arranging transfers and responding to MET calls;
- Ensuring the cost effective delivery of quality care to patients;
- Participating in, and supporting unit and Facility based education activities;
- Maintaining a working knowledge of relevant policies and procedures;
- Keeping abreast of OH&S issues and procedures; and
- Contributing on a departmental level to policy development.
To be successful in this position, you must be a Certified Medical Practitioner, and hold current registration with the Medical Board of Queensland. You will also be required to have at least three years' post graduate experience.
The ideal candidates will be self-motivated individuals who are efficient and organised with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Intensive Care or Anaesthesia experience will be highly regarded, but not essential.
