About the Opportunity

Knauf Australia now has an exciting opportunity for a Performance Manager to join their team at the Matraville, NSW facility, on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Plant Manager and part of the plant management team, you will be responsible for performance improvement in the areas of process and board quality, as well as being the identified champion of quality assurance within the plant. You will have responsibility for site environmental issues ensuring the site complies with Knauf Environmental policies and procedures.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Focusing on performance improvement in the areas of board quality and process optimisation;
  • Addressing quality and environmental non-conformances and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are put in place;
  • Participating actively in the investigation of customer complaints on board quality;
  • Overseeing the maintenance of the site Integrated Management System (IMS), including audits; and
  • Working closely with the global R&D team managing and participating in projects, and assisting with process and product trouble-shooting and development work.

Who is Knauf looking for?

To be successful in this position you will have tertiary qualifications in Chemical Engineering or similar and at least 3-5 years experience working within the manufacturing industry. In addition, you will have a strong understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO18001.

This is a highly technical role so candidates with specific experience in the plasterboard industry, will be highly regarded. Critically, you will be extremely task driven, understand the actions required for successful delivery, and have the ability to create and deliver plans to make this happen. 

This is a supervisory role that will also see you managing the day-to-day activities of a small team, so you will need to demonstrate leadership experience and/or a strong aptitude for leadership. You will provide guidance, training and performance management activities as required, including the ability to engage and challenge staff to keep them motivated in their respective positions.
