About the role:
Working across the Agri-business and reporting to the General Manager – Livestock, you’ll work closely with ACC buyers & commission buyers to deliver the required livestock numbers to our feedlots, to required customer specifications and demand on a weekly basis. Your role will be responsible for:
- Purchasing cattle for our Feedlots
- Ensuring cattle scheduling is within ordered weekly volumes for multiple cattle classes
- Ensuring cattle class specifications are communicated to vendors for delivery
- Managing and coordinating logistics for cattle movements between feedlots, vendors & saleyards
- Providing accurate & timely reporting for vendor payments and induction feedback
- Purchasing background cattle for restocking ACC Properties
- Building and developing trusted, long term relationships with suppliers to support future supply
- Identifying profitable external sales destinations for ACC feedlot & property cattle
With an eye for detail and extensive livestock knowledge gained from experience within the cattle and beef production industry, the successful candidate will bring:
- At least 3 years experience success within livestock buying/trading/agency roles
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills required to build and maintain key industry relationships
- Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
- Self-driven with high degree of initiative
- Highly accurate numerical skills for data capture and reporting
- Strong computer literacy
