Australian Country Choice (ACC) is a proud industry leader that produces and supplies the highest quality cattle and beef products to local and export markets. We employ over 1,200 Queenslanders across our diverse operation which includes large-scale cattle breeding, backgrounding, feedlotting, farming, food processing and corporate services.  As one of the largest vertically integrated beef cattle supply chains in Australia, we have the capacity to carry over 250,000 head of cattle across our properties and feedlots, process 350,000 head of cattle per year in our primary processing facility, and value add over 25,000 tonnes of products per year in our further processing facility both located at Cannon Hill.  It’s an exciting time to join ACC as we embrace a new business model, systems and technology, which set the platform for continued growth. 

Reporting to the HR Manager - Cannon Hill operations, working Afternoon shift, this role is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Maintaining consistency, alignment and cooperation with alternate Shift HR Officer and the broader People & Culture team
  • Providing timely responses to employee queries, interpretation & application of policies and entitlements
  • Facilitate formal disciplinary and grievance processes
  • Accurate & timely document administration (leave forms, new employees onboarding, terminations)
  • Collaborate with payroll to resolve pay discrepancies.
  • Absence management & reporting

About You

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year working in a HR role, possibly a recent graduate?  You'll be full of energy, seeking a busy role in a culturally diverse environment where you'll gain exposure, experience and development across the employee lifecycle. In addition, you'll have:   

  • Completed Certificate IV in Human Resource Management as minimum
  • The ability to understand and learn to apply various employment legislation, industrial agreements & instruments
  • Maintain an objective view when forming judgements and decision making
  • The ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple priorities
  • Ability to communicate, build rapport and gain confidence across a diverse workforce group
  • Well-developed written and numeracy skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Computer literacy – intermediate to advanced Microsoft office with ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Fluent second language advantageous
