About the role:
- Full-time, permanent opportunities exist for experienced Halal qualified (or eligible) Slaughter Person to work in our state-of-the-art primary processing facility.
- Joining a total team of 900 at the Cannon Hill food processing facility, you'll play a key role in the quality care and treatment of up to 350,000 head of cattle per year required to supply our major domestic retail customers, and our high-end export customers.
- You’ll enjoy variety and challenge in meeting various customer requirements and specifications with a range of cattle types and sizes.
- These positions report to the room Supervisors, working 40 hours per week on either day or night shifts, mostly Monday to Friday and overtime available on Saturdays as required.
About you:
You’ll have minimum of 1 years experience as a Halal qualified (or eligible) Slaughter person (with beef or red meat) as well as:
- Well-developed knife handling and technical skills, including knife sharpening
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of Halal requirements within the red meat industry
- Pride in delivering quality workmanship required to meet our customer specifications
- Commitment to always working safely in line with policies, procedures, PPE & work instructions
- The ability to maintain precision and accuracy in a loud, fast paced environment
- Commitment to safety and quality principles and practices in everything you do
- Working positively as part of a team
- Being adaptive to change & new ways of working
- Being keen to learn and take on additional responsibility, processes & tasks
- Flexibility and willingness to work overtime when require
You will need to demonstrate your ability to safely fulfil the physical requirements of the role (through functional capacity assessment including drug and alcohol testing) and participate in a skills assessment.
