About the job
Our Opal Creek (located outside Cecil Plains), Brisbane Valley (located in Somerset Region) and Brindley Park (located outside Roma) Feedlots are currently seeking Pen Riders & Livestock Hands. These roles undertake a range of intensive cattle feedlot activities including:
- Best practice cattle handling
- Cattle processing - inductions, drafting etc
- Observations & monitoring of cattle health and nutrition
- Identifying symptoms and providing recommended diagnosis
- Accurate recording of cattle identification, movement & treatments
This is an ideal role for applicants who are keen to learn, hardworking and dedicated with long term career aspirations within the industry. You'll share our passion for cattle and our commitment to the health, welfare and wellbeing of people and our animals, you'll be a reliable, positive, self-motivated team player with:
- Cattle handling experience & skill (Quiet/low stress techniques)
- Horse riding experience
- Attention to detail
- Understanding of quality standards & processes
- Sound literacy & numeracy skills
- Computer literacy
- Ability to follow instructions and work procedures
- Manual driver's license
- Flexibility to work a 10/4 or 5/2 roster
