Station Cook - Redford Station
Near Mitchell, South East Qld
About the role
Managed by Dan & Bridget, historic Redford Station covers approximately 120 000 acres and is located 70 kilometres North-west of Mitchell. The Station Cook at Redford plays a key role in keeping the small, close knit station crew well looked after by providing nutritious, wholesome & well balanced breakfasts, smoko, dinners and keeping the shared facilities clean and comfortable. Usually working 5 nights per week, with breaks during the day there will be some additional weekend work from time to time. Other responsibilities include:
- Gardening, mowing & watering
- Menu planning
- Stocktake / stock ordering
- Record keeping
- Cleaning kitchen and common areas
- Preparing rooms for new staff
Single air conditioned accommodation with two-way bathroom (shared with contractors/visitors) is provided. Unfortunately, we can't accommodate pets sorry.
You have demonstrated success as a Station Cook and are passionate about delivering quality food. You enjoy the challenge of creating variety in the menu and working with what you have on hand. You've got the maturity to work autonomously, without supervision and can be relied upon. Despite working alone most of the time, you really enjoy being apart of the team and getting involved. The successful Cook will also:
