Barkly Downs Station: Mechanic, Road Train Driver, Plant Operator & Station Hands

Barkly Downs Station, our largest cattle breeding property situated on 2.3 million acres and located 150 km from Mt Isa has several permanent positions now available for:   

  • Mechanic (strong mechanical knowledge of rural plant, equipment, machinery & tools)
  • Road Train Driver (12 months livestock transport experience)
  • Plant Operator (Loader/grader experience)
  • Station Hands (with cattle handing & strong horsemanship)

You’re totally committed to working safely, for yourself and your team.  Along with the relevant skills, experience & licences for the job you're applying for - successful applicants will have:  

  • Experience living & working in remote and rural station environment
  • Valid manual driver's licence
  • Solid understanding of workplace health & safety 
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as on your own 
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to doing a quality job
