Payroll Officer Traineeship- Northcote

AGA are seeking a motivated individual to train in Payroll with an organization dedicated to assisting people into the workforce. Our trainee will perform a range of administrative and payroll tasks to support internal and external clients. The successful candidate will work full time for 12 months whilst completing a Certificate III in Business.

Responsibilities:

Process Payroll

  • Assist in ensuring that weekly or fortnightly pays and pay slips are processed accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Co-ordinate and process the missing weekly timesheets reports.

  • Provide friendly customer service to all staff ensuring accurate and timely advice is given on payroll matters.

    Payroll Reconciliation

  • Work closely with the Senior Payroll Officer to ensure the following periodic tasks are completed in a timely manner:

  • Payroll adjustments for the current pay run

  • Preparation and reconciliation of weekly invoices prior to printing and mailing

  • Update and maintain employee payroll records in the payroll system while ensuring the accuracy of all payroll data.

    Payroll Filing

  • Responsible for filing departmental payroll records and ensuring that they are complete and accurate, both manual and electronic.

    Other Responsibilities

  • Any other responsibilities as directed by the Senior Payroll Officer.

  • Completion of all employment, Commonwealth incentive and training related documentation within the required timeframes.

  • Assist and support the Senior Payroll Officer in maintaining an accurate, comprehensive and current Policy and Procedures Manual for the payroll function
