About Consumer and Business Services
Consumer and Business Services (CBS) is a division of the South Australian Governments Attorney-General's Department. CBS ensures that laws affecting consumers, traders and businesses in South Australia are fairly and effectively administered. CBS provides a diverse range of services to support the everyday activities of South Australian citizens whether consumers, traders or businesses. CBS is customer focused and flexible in its activities and provides accessible services and information.
About the Opportunity
The Intelligence and Assessments Officer conducts assessments and research of complaints made to Consumer and Business Services and is responsible for making recommendations to the Commissioner as to what action may be taken in compliance with the legislation administered by CBS.
This role provides an opportunity to regulate multiple industries and take a lead role in recommending what matters should proceed to investigation. You will be required to support the strategic direction and plans of CBS. You will manage risk and escalate where it is appropriate to do so. You will be accountable for the delivery of quality, timely and cost effecting results and confidentially make decisions showing good judgment. You will also contribute to a culture of respect and high ethical standards.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be advised to submit their National Police Check Application form, including certified identification documents, to the AGD if an interview is requested. The form is not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD. If you are invited for an interview you will be required to bring a completed Job Application Pack (Pre-Employment declaration and NPC consent form) and National Police Clearance form and ID.
Some out of hours work, intrastate and interstate travel may be required. Employees are expected to maintain the integrity and security of all information for which they are responsible as a result of employment in the Attorney-General’s Department.
