About the Role

State Records of South Australia (SRSA) is a division of the Attorney-General’s Department of South Australia (AGD) and is the custodian for all State and Local Government records, including responsibility for administering the State Records Act 1997, the Freedom of Information Act 1991, the Information Privacy Principles and the State’s Copyright agreements.

State Records SA is undergoing a period of legislative and business reform. This executive position provides an opportunity to join the AGD and requires a driven and motivated individual to effectively lead and manage this change successfully, please apply now.

As the Director of State Records SA, you will be responsible for:

  • implementing and driving effective change within State Records while maintaining a high level of services across South Australia;
  • providing strategic leadership and effective management for 40 (full time equivalent) staff located across four locations,
  • managing an office that is the custodian for archival records and official records created by State and Local Government;
  • delivering a whole of Government approach to records, archival and information management, and;
  • contributing to the South Australian Public Sector’s strategic priorities and whole of government objectives.

To be successful in this role you will need to have the ability to interpret and apply legislation, have experience in effectively leading and managing effective organisational change, and have experience in effectively managing financial resources including budget setting and monitoring.

Special Conditions for Employment

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be advised to submit their National Police Check Application form, including certified identification documents, when attending their interview, along with a completed Job Application Pack. The form is not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.

Out of hours work during times of demand and some intra/interstate travel involving overnight absences may be required.
