  • On-call allowance of $52.78 each shift
  • Usual rate of pay p/hr paid in addition to other entitlements in line with Wintringham Collective Agreement

Your new role:

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic person, with a commitment to social justice, to join our multi-disciplinary Supportive Housing team at Audrey Rainsford. This position will work together with the other case workers and teams to ensure a collaborative team culture is maintained while ensuring that service delivery practices are consistent with Wintringham's philosophy, values and mission.

As the After Hours On-Call Senior Case Worker, you will be responsible for providing support, guidance and advice to employees involved in delivering services to clients at Audrey Rainsford Supportive housing. This position is the central contact for staff on site after hours.

 

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Ensure that all staff at Audrey Rainsford Supportive Housing are able to access telephone support after hours
  • Support staff and concierge by providing:
    • debriefing after an incident
    • assistance in problem solving an immediate issue, including escalation as appropriate
    • provide a contact point for staff check in for team members scheduled to complete ad hoc shifts outside of standard business hours
  • Ensure that all phone calls received on the after-hours telephone will be answered in a timely manner (within 15 minutes)
  • Utilise a risk management approach when addressing each individual request
  • Understand the escalation process and is ready to escalate when assessment of the incident or critical event requires Housing & Homelessness Support Manager (Metro), GM of Homelessness and Client Support Services, or CEO involvement
  • Manage arrangements for the after-hours staff roster to be filled, in the event of staff who call in sick
  • Ensure all contacts to the after-hours service is documented in the After Hours Call Log and entered under the relevant client in SHIP
  • Assist with the completion of incident reports as appropriate
  • Review emails at the beginning of each shift for alerts

 

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Ability to work both in team and autonomously
  • Previous experience in the provision of crisis intervention and risk assessment
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role
  • Experience in providing leadership to frontline employees, particularly with regards to clients with high risk and complex needs in residential settings
  • An informed understanding of the incidence, causes and impacts of crisis
  • Knowledge of issues associated with ageing
  • An understanding of issues associated with aged homelessness
  • An approved tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Allied Health or Welfare
