$39.23 per hour, inclusive of 25% casual loading

We are looking for an efficient and professional casual Receptionist to provide our visitors and stakeholders with timely, polite and effective service when they first make contact with the organisation.

This role is responsible for answering calls and redirecting them as appropriate, attending to all visitors who arrive at reception, disseminating emails that arrive through the central email account, coordinating incoming and outgoing mail and packages, and other receptionist and administrative duties as required.

This is a casual position to cover periods of leave. Applicants must be available to cover Monday, 9 June - Friday, 20 June inclusive (8:00 am - 4:00 pm).

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated experience as a receptionist or similar administrative position;
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills - able to communicate with individuals at all levels and present a professional image;
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively within a team environment;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Good written communication and time management skills; and
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold the principles of cultural safety including an ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Ideally, in addition to be above, we are looking for someone who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and is acknowledged as such by their community.

The successful candidate will be required to submit a National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months) and provide evidence of their legal entitlement to work in Australia.

The position involves working within a multicultural organisation where the majority of employees, clients and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

The Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia (AHCWA) is the peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) in Western Australia. We exist to support and act on behalf of our 23 Member ACCHS throughout WA, actively responding to their individual and collective needs.
