Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation. We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing and services. We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania.
Located in Frankston, Angus Martin House is a 40 bed Supported Residential Service that provides care and support by promoting independence. Our dedicated team of staff are on site 24/7 to assist and maximise the health and wellbeing of our residents, whilst respecting their options, dignity and rights. Angus Martin House enjoys a superb location with Frankston beach only a short stroll away.
Your new role
We are currently seeking compassionate medication-endorsed Personal Care Assistants to join our friendly and dynamic team at our Angus Martin Home on a Casual basis. This role is ideal for someone who believes in dignity for all, values inclusion, and wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older people - especially those who have experienced disadvantage or housing insecurity. Your fortnightly roster will be determined by ad-hoc opportunities to offer relief to the team, with flexibility to support residents when they need it most.
Your responsibilities and duties will include:
- Supporting residents with personal care including hygiene, dressing, grooming, and other daily living activities—always with respect and empathy.
- Observing and reporting changes in residents’ behaviour or physical condition to ensure timely and appropriate care.
- Liaising with medical practitioners, pharmacists, and health services to advocate for residents’ health and wellbeing.
- Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs, supporting residents’ autonomy while promoting safety.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to a culture of transparency and continuous improvement.
We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Completion of medication administration unit (HLTHPS006 - Assist Clients with Medication)
- A strong commitment to social justice, inclusion, and person-centred care.
- Ability to work independently while showing initiative and compassion.
- Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support.
- Prior experience in housing & homelessness support, aged care, welfare, disability support, mental health, or community/home care.
- A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to care.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, non-judgmental attitude.
- A genuine desire to enhance or maintain residents’ independence and lifestyle choices.
