Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation. We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing, support, and tenancy services. Your new role

We are currently seeking a proactive individual to join our Tenancy Management Team as the Tenancy Management Worker in this Full-Time position. You will be reporting to the Tenancy Coordinator and Tenancy Manager and will be responsible for managing our spacious and beautifully finished self-contained apartments. In this dynamic role, you will oversee this important program which supports people who have experienced long-term homelessness and focuses on the provision of affordable housing to prevent a return to homelessness.

This position requires a professional who is skilled and comfortable with working alongside people with complex needs, who may be experiencing challenges regarding their aging needs, including mental health, cognition, mobility and literacy challenges.

 

Your responsibilities and duties will also include the below:

  • Coordinate the arrival/departure requirements of residents, by completing all required paperwork and arranging financial assessments.
  • Follow up on rental issues, including the financial arrangements for rental payments, arrears and accounts
  • Liaise with resident’s administrators/representatives and Centrelink/Veterans Affairs
  • Report maintenance issues and faults to the Asset Services Manager and undertake regular inspections of units with other Wintringham and/or Wintringham Housing staff
  • Complete associated documentation in relation to housing inspections
  • Initiate, follow up and represent Wintringham Housing and/or Wintringham through appropriate formal tenancy procedures including applications to and appearances at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT)
  • Maintain spreadsheets and reporting required internally and externally.
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports and other information across a range of defined areas of service delivery
  • Fulfil rental provider duties in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act 1997
  • Maintain knowledge of tenancy legislation and any other legislation
  • Manage tenancies to high standards in accordance with requirements as a Housing Association

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Current Victorian driver’s licence
  • First Aid Certificate – Workplace Level 2
  • Minimum of 2 years Community Housing experience in tenancy.
  • A thorough understanding of the current VCAT/ Residential Tenancies Act 1997
  • Experience in CHINTARO or industry Real Estate Management Software
  • Knowledge of housing and support issues facing older homeless people who may have a physical and/or mental disability and/or drug and alcohol issues
  • An understanding of Aged Care Packages, Aged Care Assessment Services and other community services
  • Real Estate Qualification – Real Estate Agent’s Representative.
  • Ability to work with residents who may have a physical or sensory disability and who could display verbal or physically challenging behaviours
