- Contribute to supporting children to have a positive and meaningful relationship with both their parents/caregivers
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Casual Facilitator to work predominately on weekends within a dynamic team of child-focussed staff providing safe spaces for children and their parents. You will supervise contact visits between non-residential parents and their children and facilitate child-focused changeovers. You will be required to write observation reports and assist with the collection of data and statistics. You will be provided with ongoing support and supervision.

What do you need to bring?
- Must be available to work weekends as required
- Post-secondary qualifications in the Human Service field and/or experience working with families and children in crisis from a developmental and strengths based perspective
- Willingness to seek out own professional development training (if required)
- An understanding of family separation and divorce and the impact of domestic violence on women and children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A vibrant personality with a resident-focused mindset
What can you expect to be doing?
- Provide a safe place for children to have contact with their separated parents
- Listen to children and ensure they are comfortable at the service
- Writing contemporaneous notes of visits between children and their visiting parent.
- Building rapport with parents, and referring them to services they need as appropriate (e.g. circle of security, dad factor).
- Actively monitoring service performance, finding opportunities for improvement
