About the Opportunity
Our people’s integrity, dedication, and expertise are at the heart of everything we do and we are now looking for 2 knowledgeable and capable horticulture auditors to fill 2 x Horticulture Field Auditor positions in our auditing team in Victoria. The Field Auditor role is a WFH/mobile role where you can work from home and attend client sites across Melbourne and regional Victoria, with some travel interstate as required (such as for training, conferences, or audits in Tasmania, South Australia or New South Wales).
Given the geographical location of our client sites in Victoria, one position will be based in our Melbourne Metro region and the second position will be in our North/West Region of Victoria and due to the travel required, it is recommended the candidate resides in the audit region (Melbourne Metro or North/West Regional Victoria).
We are looking for a passionate and energetic individual committed to providing an effective, quality-focused, professional service by conducting thorough, objective and accurate audits. In addition, you will be submitting well-considered and comprehensive audit reports in line with relevant program requirements and the organisation’s standards, timeframes and policies.
Collaborate with head office technical, shared services and scheduling teams as a key contributor and representative of the business within the industry
Conduct audit processes in line with program standards and Quality Management expectations;
Provide effective and timely transmission of complete and finalised audit reports;
- Engage with the industry and community as a role model and representative of AUS-MEAT;
Escalate issues or queries that cannot be addressed directly to the relevant Program Manager or Technical advisor;
Liaise with the Scheduling team to ensure optimal efficiency of scheduling and travel plans;
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, in line with the Employee Code of Conduct; and
Adhere to Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures, particularly Fatigue Management.
To succeed, you will be passionate about food safety and have strong knowledge and experience within the horticulture industry and food safety compliance practices.
You will have a minimum of three years of experience in a technical role within the horticulture industry and a Lead Auditor Food Safety qualification. It is essential that you have completed an external HACCP (principles & applications) training course and a Chemical User certification. You will also possess in-depth horticulture industry experience with strong knowledge and understanding of the auditing process.
It is essential you have a post-secondary qualification relevant to the horticulture industry, such as Food Science or another related field.
You will need to have professional and clear writing skills and be comfortable typing your reports or using electronic forms or online portals. Through your natural interpersonal communication skills, you will be able to successfully forge strong professional relationships with clients and have a developmental manner when giving feedback. You will also have an appetite for continual learning and upskilling in your field of expertise and be able to manage your time effectively.
Due to this being a WFH/mobile role you will need to be self-motivated, organised, able to work autonomously (with remote technical assistance as required), use digital platforms and portals, and be capable of undertaking extensive local, intrastate and occasional interstate travel (generally expect 4 out of 5 or 8 out of 10 days at audit site).
