We set up our Field Auditors for success. You will be supported by our highly experienced and respected by industry team members, and we make sure you're equipped with the resources and training to succeed.

What you'll be doing

This is a WFH/mobile role where you work from home and attend client sites across Victoria, with some travel interstate as required (such as training, conference, or interstate audits).  Generally, expect 4 out of 5, or 8 out of 10 days at audit sites.

Every day will bring new and exciting challenges on the job while you:

  • Conduct audit processes in compliance with documented program standards and procedures;
  • Provide timely, accurate and complete audit plans and reports;
  • Escalate issues in a timely manner;
  • Build positive client relationships and progressing the AUS-MEAT reputation through excellent service an integrity;
  • Submit invoicing and costing data in line with expectations;
  • Plan and maintain up to date audit schedules;
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders and head office; and
  • Maintain industry and program knowledge, updating interpersonal and meta-skills for auditing effectively, and ensuring report writing expectations are met.

A little about you

You are passionate about the red meat industry and have ideally progressed from on-floor experience in slaughter floor, boning room and food service (meat) to Quality Assurance within the meat production industry.

As a Field Auditor, it is essential that you hold, or are prepared to gain the following certifications:

  • Lead Auditor Food Safety
  • External HACCP (principles & applications)
  • Registered Auditor with Exemplar Global

It would be beneficial to have knowledge and skills in one or more of the following industry standards:

  • AUS-MEAT Accreditation (AUS-MEAT and Chiller Assessment language)
  • Meat Standards Australia (MSA)
  • Non-Packer Exporters
  • Animal Welfare
  • Approved Arrangement Guidelines

Our ideal candidate will be open to career development with additional training to be provided for other audit programs such as BRCGS, livestock and supply chain.

You will need to have professional and clear writing skills and be comfortable in typing your reports or using electronic forms or online portals.  Through your natural interpersonal communication skills, you will be able to forge strong professional relationships with clients and have a developmental manner when giving feedback.  You will also have an appetite for continual learning and upskilling in your field of expertise and be able to manage your time effectively.

Due to this being a WFH/mobile role you will need to be self-motivated, organised, able to work autonomously (with remote technical assistance as required), use digital platforms and portals.
