AUS-MEAT Training (nationally recognised training organisation RTO-7085) has been in operation for over twenty years with our training courses designed to educate, upskill and create a sustainable and trusted agriculture and food industry.

Our training services are provided to help individuals and organisations comply with industry standards and meet all regulatory requirements.  As an RTO we ensure that our training courses comply with the training and assessment standards under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).

A snapshot of the role

AUS-MEAT Training has an opening for a suitably qualified Trainer to join our expanding training team. This position will be based in Brisbane with interstate travel as required.  You will primarily be responsible for delivering qualifications under the Australian Meat Processing training package (AMP). Reporting to the Training Manager, the successful candidate will be involved in the development of new training materials and responsible for the delivery and assessment of training to new and existing persons within the meat processing industry. The ideal candidate will have a background in meat processing and production and have been involved in Quality Assurance and compliance related activities. 

We are looking to fill this role as soon as possible; however, we are flexible for the right applicant.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Deliver scheduled training courses for trainees with professionalism, enthusiasm and integrity.
  • Provide effective and timely transmission of completed course information and documentation to the Training Administrator.
  • Ensure training material and course content is relevant and regularly revised in consultation with the Training Manager, to meet the changing needs of the industry.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of new training courses in accordance with the operational objectives of AUS-MEAT and industry requirements.
  • Maintain skills, qualifications and appropriate registrations required to conduct the functions of the training programs.
  • Ensure the reputation of the AUS-MEAT brand as a leading provider of quality and responsive industry products and services is upheld.
  • Adhere to Workplace Health and Safety policy and procedures.

A little about you

To be considered for this position, applicants are to have, as a minimum, qualifications in the AMP training package, coupled with industry experience.  Knowledge and experience in the meat processing training package and an understanding of current industry practices is highly desirable.

It is a requirement that you hold:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Certificate III or IV in Meat Safety

Experience in meat retailing and/or carcase boning would be highly beneficial.

A record of achievement in preparing and delivering training to diverse client groups, with experience in delivering face to face and/or via live and pre-recorded webinars will be highly regarded.

You will have the ability to develop credibility, build and maintain strategic relationships and partnerships including productive and supportive relationships with employers and training participants.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and be flexible to team demands and priorities.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills along will well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in the use of mobile devices and IT Systems, including inhouse apps, relevant MS Office programs and online systems.  
  • A high level of integrity and ethical business practices.
