As a Field Auditor within our Meat Food Safety Programs, you will play a vital role in our mission by conducting thorough, high-quality audits for the meat production industry.
We are committed to setting our Field Auditors up for success. You will be supported by our experienced and industry respected team and provided with all the necessary resources and comprehensive training to help you excel in your role.
What you'll be doing
This is a flexible work from home and mobile role, allowing you to be based at home while travelling to client sites across Australia. You will also have opportunities to attend training sessions and industry conferences.
Travel is a key component of the role, with an expectation of spending approximately 4 out of 5 days on site conducting audits.
No two days will be the same. In this role, you will:
- Conduct audit in accordance with documented program standards and procedures;
- Prepare and deliver timely, accurate and complete audit plans and reports;
- Identify and escalate issues promptly;
- Build positive client relationships while enhancing the AUS-MEAT reputation through integrity and exceptional service;
- Submit invoicing and costing data in line with business requirements;
- Plan, manage and maintain up to date audit schedules;
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders and head office; and
- Maintain current industry and program knowledge, continuously developing interpersonal and auditing skills and meeting report writing standards.
You will receive training and mentoring to audit a range of meat food safety programs, including AUS-MEAT Accreditation and Non-Packer Exporter programs. Over time, you will progress to auditing additional schemes such as BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards) and North American (Aldi Meat, AAWCS, Costco Meat, McDonalds Beef, North American, Woolworths Meat, WQA).
A little about you
You are passionate about food safety and compliance with at least five years’ hands on experience in Food Manufacturing (experience in Meat Industry highly regarded) or high-care/high-risk processing, food science/ technology.
Have proven experience in meat or food processing related industries, within quality assurance, product safety, manufacturing, retail or inspection.
As a Field Auditor, you will hold or be willing to obtain:
- Lead Auditor Food Safety
- External HACCP (principles & applications)
- Exemplar Global registered as a Food Safety Auditor (scopes 3A Red meat processing – slaughtering and boning and 3B Red meat processing)
- BRCGS categories 1 (raw red meat) and 3 (raw prepared products meat & vegetarian)
If you don’t have these, and you’re the right person for the role, support will be provided to gain these certificates.
You will need to be self-motivated, organised, able to work autonomously (with remote technical assistance as required), use digital platforms and portals.
You will need to have professional and clear writing skills and be comfortable typing your reports or using electronic forms or online portals. Through your natural interpersonal communication skills, you will be able to successfully forge strong professional relationships with clients and have a developmental manner when giving feedback.
You will also have an appetite for continual learning and upskilling in your field of expertise and be able to manage your time effectively.
