Autism SA is a leading provider of services to individuals and families living with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in Australia and is seeking to employ an Autism Spectrum Community Liaison Officer within the Community Liaison Team.
We are seeking a dynamic person with strong customer service skills and sound knowledge of ASD to present a welcoming and professional entry point for enquiries into our organisation.
This position is required to provide a comprehensive community information and resource development program.
Specifically, the role is responsible and accountable for:
- Providing clear, consistent and expert information to individuals with ASD and their families/carers to assist in identifying available services and resources
- Identifying and supporting pre-diagnostic pathways
- Developing regional specific information and strategies to connect to communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, to raise ASD awareness.
Essential:
- Providing advice, information and referring clients/carers of children with disabilities to service options
- Proven ability and experience in providing positive customer service to clients and families via communication pathways
Desirable:
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and/or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities
This role is three days per week working a fixed roster on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The successful applicant may be required to provide relief support to the team by negotiation in addition to their minimum hours.
This is a fixed term contract until 30 June 2018 with the possibility of extension.
The position will be based in Netley with core working hours of 9am – 5pm.
