Accounts and Payroll Officer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts and Payroll Officer to join our Finance Team for a full time role. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be the key person for all payroll related matters to ensure the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll while supporting the Finance Manager with financial entries and reports. You will work closely with the finance team on ad hoc projects and tasks.

Key Responsibilities            

  • Managing Payroll for 250+ employees
  • Check timesheets and overtime in BURPS
  • Process weekly payroll through BURPS and MYOB
  • Setting up and maintaining staff data
  • Preparing and processing payroll adjustments and terminations 
  • Record Accounting Entries for financial transactions in NetSuite and MYOB
  • Reconciliation of Sales and working on end of month entries
  • Check and review of weekly supplier payments
  • Prepare end of month financial reports

What are the minimum requirements for this position?

  • 5+ years of payroll experience
  • Tertiary accounting qualification or equivalent experience 
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Advanced computer literacy including experience with MYOB, NetSuite ,Excel and Adobe Software
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles
  • Finance experience in a Not-for-profit organisation is desirable
