About The Role

Located in the heart of the Hilton suburb, Aegis Hilton Park provides quality care services for up to 136 residents within a Low Care and High Care setting as well as delivering Dementia Specific Care services. We are seeking an experienced Therapy Assistance with dementia specific training who is passionate about delivering exceptional care to our residents on a Permanent Part-time basis Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm.

 As an integral part of the team, you will:

  • Provide mobility and exercise programs to our residents under the direction and supervision of the Physiotherapist.
  • Provide recreational and other therapeutic activity programs to our residents under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
  • Participate in the organisation and planning of therapy programs.
  • Deliver a range of therapy-based activity programs as directed.
  • Complete accurate documentation in line with relevant guidelines.
  • Accompany resident groups on outings

 Requirements of the role

  • Aged Care Dementia Specific Experience essential or demonstrated Dementia Training
  • Hold a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or higher/equivalent.
  • A Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent/higher or experience. (Desirable but not essential) 
  • Have experience in a similar role preferred (Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapist Assistant)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coach staff to deliver quality lifestyle and therapy activities.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Have empathy with the elderly.
  • Have full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance.
