Barcaldine Regional Council is recruiting for a Full-time Carpenter located in Aramac.
This role is a diverse role that works independently as well as required to work amongst a team.

Day-to-day tasks of this role
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Assisting supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation.
- Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required.
- Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials.
- Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment.
- Perform work in accordance with safety best practices.
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition.
- Conduct building inspections and identify needed repairs.

What's on Offer?
Location: This position is based in Aramac with Regional Work and Travel as required.
Classification Level: Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream C) Award - State 2017, and the Barcaldine Regional Council Certified Agreement 2022.
Wage: To be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.
Hours of work: 76 hours over 9 days with a rostered day off (RDO) every fortnight.
Leave: Five (5) weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% loading. Fifteen (15) days Personal Leave (sick leave) per annum.

Skills and knowledge required:
- Minimum of 3 years of general carpentry experience and completion of an apprenticeship, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- The Appointee must hold a current QLD Class “C” Drivers Licence.
- The Appointee must hold a current lawful Queensland Construction Safety Induction Card.
(White/Blue Card) or equivalent. - Forklift certification preferred.
- Asbestos awareness training preferred.
- Good communication skills.
- Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination.
- Extensive knowledge of power tools, including skill saw, mitre saw and jigsaw.
