Barcaldine Regional Council are on the lookout for a hardworking and motivated individual to join the team in Aramac as a labourer!

Preferably you must have good construction and grounds keeping experience, be comfortable using a range of hand tools, and possess good knowledge of heavy-duty lawnmowers. Applicants with an MR Driver Licence will be highly regarded.

We are looking for outstanding candidates that can deliver high quality work while following timelines and adhering to WHS policies and procedures. You will also possess a great work ethic and attitude.

What's on Offer?

Location: This position is based in Aramac, with Regional Work and Travel as required.

Classification Level: Level 3 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – State 2017 and the Barcaldine Regional Council Certified Agreement 2022.

Wage: Minimum base salary of $60,158 per annum + Superannuation (up to 12%) and relevant approved allowances.

Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.

Hours of work: 76 hours over 9 days with a rostered day off (RDO) every fortnight.

Leave Entitlements: Five (5) weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% Loading. Fifteen (15) days Personal Leave (sick leave) per annum.

Successful Applicant Requirements

  • Minimum MR Driver Licence (highly regarded);
  • Current General Construction Induction (White/Blue) Card;
  • A motivated and reliable individual with a good work ethic;
  • An energetic, physically fit and well presented individual;
  • Possession of attention to detail and the showing of pride in your work;
  • Proven experience in either the construction industry or local government;
  • Completion of a National Criminal History Check to Council’s satisfaction; and
  • Completion of a Pre-employment Medical Examination to Council’s satisfaction.
