About the role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a hardworking, motivated individual to fill the role of Workshop Supervisor in Alpha. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising the operations of the workshop, planning and coordinating work to ensure that plant and equipment are running as scheduled, specifications are met, quality is upheld to the highest standard, and safe working practices are maintained.
Location: This position is based in Alpha with regional work and travel as required.
Classification Level: Level 5.1 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award - State 2017, and the Barcaldine Regional Council Certified Agreement 2022.
Wage: Minimum base salary of $79,894.88 per annum + Superannuation (up to 12%) and relevant approved allowances.
Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.
Hours of work: 76 hours over 9 days with a rostered day off every fortnight.
Leave: Five (5) weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% loading. Fifteen (15) days Personal Leave (sick leave) per annum.

What we are looking for:
- A tertiary or post-trade qualification in Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical or similar;
- Current Queensland class 'HR' Driver Licence;
- Forklift Licence highly desireable;
- Current lawful Queensland Construction Safety Induction (white/blue) Card;
- Demonstrated successful delivery of technical and practical fitting, repair, and maintenance skills (small engines and heavy plant);
- Excellent maintenance and inventory management abilities;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent customer service abilities;
- Demonstrated knowledge of workplace safety requirements.
