What does this role offer?

We are looking for an experienced Grants Officer to be located within our Barcaldine region. 

This position will report into the Chief Executive Officer position and will be responsible for the following duties: 

  • Manage and monitor reporting and ensure they are prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Research upcoming grant opportunities from government and implement a strategic plan to how this grant may be used. 
  • Keeping updated with any grant, awards and funding trends occurring within the Council. 
  • Liaise with stakeholders on a regular basis and ensure relationships are maintained at a high standard. 
  • Promoting continuous improvement and constantly looking for improvements within the corporate planning initiatives, projects, and working groups as identified.

To be successful 

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Business, Community Development, Public Administration) or proven equivalent experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing, application and management.
  • Demonstrated effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research projects, interpret and analyse information, and prepare and provide information and recommendations. 
  • Demonstrated sound communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage several tasks at one given time.
