About the role:
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for managing fleets and operations?
Barcaldine Regional Council are on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Coordinator to oversee our plant, fleet, and operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Senior Works Supervisor to oversee the operation of Councils fixed and mobile assets functions.
- Identify opportunities to maximise asset utilisation and return on invested capital.
- Analyse operational metrics from fixed and mobile assets to improve performance and maximise returns.
- Support daily operations, including workshop optimisation, strategic partnerships, insurance claim management, acquisitions, and disposals.
- Assess risks involved with new initiatives, ensure deadlines are met and be ready to handle unexpected situations.
- Fleet planning and performance monitoring.
- Ensuring business objectives are achieved.
- Volume planning and lifecycle management.
- Develop telemetric's across Councils fleet.
Details and Benefits:
Location: All districts considered, Barcaldine preferred.
Classification Level: To be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Wage: To be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.
Hours of work: 76 hours over 9 days with a rostered day off (RDO) every fortnight.
Leave Entitlements: Five (5) weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% Loading. Fifteen (15) days Personal Leave (sick leave) per annum.

We are Looking for:
- Trade qualified or Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle with at least 5 years' fleet management experience;
- Proven experience in coordinating workshop operations, including plant and equipment service and repair, scheduling, and prioritisation;
- Demonstrated experience in developing/training and supervising a team of staff;
- Demonstrated experience in the service and maintenance of light vehicles, light and heavy equipment, and heavy commercial vehicles;
- Minimum QLD 'HR' Driver Licence;
- Current General Construction Induction (White/Blue) Card;
- QLD Transport Inspection Station Officer accreditation (desirable);
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure; and
- Demonstrated general administrative experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
