The Opportunity:
Are you passionate about water management and looking for an opportunity that blends technical expertise with administrative excellence?
Join our team as a Technical Officer (water/wastewater) and play a pivotal role in ensuring water quality and regulatory compliance in a primarily administrative capacity.
What You'll Do:
As a Technical Officer, you will be responsible for a range of administrative and technical tasks that support the effective management of water and wastewater services. This role emphasises documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication to uphold our commitment to safe and efficient water management practices.

Role Details:
Location: This position is based in Barcaldine with regional work and travel as required.
Classification: Minimum level 3.1 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award - State 2017, and the Barcaldine Regional Council Certified Agreement 2022, with the opportunity to progress to Level 4 based on skills and experience.
Wage: Minimum base salary of $74,446.32 per annum + Superannuation (up to 12%) and relevant approved allowances, with the opportunity for more based on skills and experience.
Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.
Hours of work: 72.5 hours over 9 days with a rostered day off (RDO) every fortnight.
Leave: Five (5) weeks annual leave per annum + fifteen (15) days Personal Leave (sick leave) per annum.

What We're Looking For:
- Formal tertiary qualifications in a relevant filed (highly desirable) or demonstrated previous experience.
- Current QLD class 'C' Driver Licence.
- Current General Construction Induction Card (White/Blue Card) or equivalent.
- Technical knowledge in water quality management and compliance.
- Advanced computer and data analysis skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.
