The Opportunity:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Records Officer to join our team. Based in Aramac, you will be responsible for the accurate, secure, and efficient management of our records and documentation. You will ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, supporting the team to maintain high standards in recordkeeping, data integrity, and information management.
This is a full-time, 12 month contract.
What You'll Do:
- Manage Council's records and archive system, ensuring accurate classification, storage, and retrieval.
- Lead records improvement initiatives, including training and developing documentation.
- Provide staff support and promote best practices in records management.
- Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance with the Public Records Act 2002.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of corporate templates and forms.
Position Details:
Location: This position is based in Aramac with regional work and travel as required.
Classification Level: Level 4.1 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award - State 2017, and the Barcaldine Regional Council Certified Agreement 2022.
Wage: Minimum base salary of $75,063.04 per annum + Superannuation (up to 12%) and relevant approved allowances.
Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.
Hours of work: 72.5 hours over 9 days with a rostered day off every fortnight.
Leave: Five (5) weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% loading. Fifteen (15) days Personal Leave (sick leave) per annum.

What We're Looking For:
- Satisfactory completion of Year 12 Certificate or equivalent.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in Records Management, with a demonstrated interest in the field.
- Current Queensland class 'C' Driver Licence.
- Proven experience administering an Electronic Document Management System, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with team leadership experience and the ability to achieve outcomes through influence.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Queensland legislation and policies related to information management.
- Demonstrated ability to review, analyse, and implement records and information management programs.
