The Opportunity:

Are you a motivated individual with a knack for customer service and an interest in financial and administrative support? 

We're seeking a Customer Service Officer to join our team at the Aramac Rural Transaction Centre, where you'll provide essential banking, financial, and administrative assistance to support the needs of our community.

This is a part-time opportunity, offering a chance to make a meaningful impact in a community-centred role with a supportive team environment.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Assist customers in the BOQ Branch, handling inquiries on banking products and services with professionalism and a friendly approach.
  • Ensure effective service to both internal and external stakeholders, resolving customer issues at the first point of contact whenever possible.
  • Conduct cash handling, record-keeping, and general administrative tasks, ensuring compliance with banking policies and maintaining security standards.
  • Actively support QGAP operations by offering services on behalf of various State Government Departments.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised environment, promoting Workplace Health and Safety at all times.

 

Role Details:

Location: This position is based in Aramac with regional work and travel as required.

Classification Level: Minimum Level 3.1 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award - State 2017, and the Barcaldine Regional Council Certified Agreement 2022.

Wage: Pro-rata base salary equivalent to a full-time minimum of $71,755.84 per annum + Superannuation (up to 12%) and relevant approved allowances.

Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.

Hours of work: Minimum 16 hours per week, ideally spread across Mondays and Thursdays (9:00am to 1:00pm) and a full day on Fridays.

What We're Looking For:

  • Year 12 certificate or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in banking/financial/administrative support.
  • Current Queensland class 'C' driver licence.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent self- and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and develop creative solutions to problems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and internal computer systems, with a quick adaptability to new technology.
  • Commitment to Workplace Health and Safety, along with strong literacy and numeracy skills appropriate for the position.
