About the Role:
Community Care Services supports our aging population, helping them live with dignity and independence in their own homes. Our services cater to the elderly and those with mental illness, disabilities, or other disadvantages.
We are seeking a dedicated Community Care Officer on a casual basis to support the individual needs of the frail, aged, and those with a disability in the Barcaldine area. The role involves assisting clients in maintaining their independence at home by providing domestic assistance (cleaning), personal care, community access, and activities such as shopping, banking, doctor appointments, post office visits, and social activities. Additionally, you will offer emotional support and companionship through "social supporting individual visits", fostering a sense of security and wellbeing. The carer will document and report client and safety concerns accordingly.
This role primarily focuses on domestic assistance. You will help clients with cleaning tasks they may be unable to perform themselves, including sweeping, mopping, making the bed, and cleaning the bathroom.
The successful incumbent will support multiple clients daily, and may need to work alternate weekends to assist clients with medication management.
We are looking for individuals with a Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent, or those willing to undertake study to achieve this certification.
We are looking for a Carer on either a Full-time, part-time or casual basis, with hours and flexibility to be discussed with successful applicants.

Location: This position is based in Aramac with Regional work and travel as required.
Classification Level: To be negotiated with successful applicant.
Wage: To be negotiated with successful applicant.
Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.
Hours of work: Full-time, part-time or casual with hours and flexibility to be discussed with the successful applicant.

What You'll Need:
- Certificate III in Aged Care / Individual Care / Disability Care or able to demonstrate equivalent related experience and be willing to complete the certificate;
- Current First Aid Certificate and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Accreditation;
- A current Qld Class 'C' Drivers Licence;
- Knowledge and a basic understanding of the Aged Care and NDIS Sector and relevant legislation with past experience delivering general and personal services support;
- Demonstrated ability to work under limited supervision whilst retaining client privacy and confidentiality as well as exercising initiative, judgment and the ability to plan and manage own time;
- Demonstrated ability to cooperatively work in a team environment, contributing positively to team operations; and
- Demonstrated understanding of how to maintain a safe working environment, and commitment to Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures.
